The same thing happens every semester. I am really excited for school to start the first week. The next week the assignments come and I start to feel like my anticipation was overratted. Finally the semester comes to an end and then, I repeat.
So my question is, since graduation comes for me in Decemeber, what next. What will I do when there are no more class? No more nagging professors with crazy accents. The thought of it is kind of scary. I cant wait to walk across the stage and make my family proud but I fear what life holds. Will I just work forever until retirement? Maybe I should be one of those people who just goes to school repeadly, non stop.
I know I will miss the friends I made here at UAB and the professors too.
Ooooo look Nickelodeon has a cruise!!!!!
Excuse me readers, Im easily distracted. (commercial break on My Wife and Kids) lol Maybe I should take a cruise since I never got to go to Spring Break.
Happy summer everyone.
I hope to see you all in the fall and congrats to all my Graduates!
Lauren, Ryan, and Alli to point out a few favs!

Mortification on a Tuesday.
Some forms of embarrassment simply cannot be avoided.
Today, when I picked up ONE, his teacher greeted me by smiling and taking a deep breath. That is never a good sign. I braced myself. She seemed like she didn't know quite how to tell me what happened.
I waited.
You see, ONE has a friend who has a lisp. This friend happens to be obsessed with Thomas the Train, just like ONE. In case you aren't familiar, Thomas the Train has all kinds of other train friends ... and one in particular is named Percy.
Unfortunately, The Lisper pronounces Percy incorrectly. I imagine he pronounces a lot of words incorrectly, but I hope for his mother's sake most of them don't sound like slang for lady parts. And, unfortunately for me, my son is a great imitator.
Today, at naptime, ONE yelled out "I LOVE PUSSY!"
If you're looking for me, I'm currently hiding under a rock.

Winning
So my boyfriend DJ has fallen victim to this whole Charlie Sheen Shenanigans. Even his ringtone says "WINNING!" and everytime it goes off I look at him with the OMG face.
I wish there was a rehab facility that you could send Sheen and all of his disturbed followers to. There should be a celebrity rehab dedicated directly to the Sheenanigans.
Someone needs to define WINNNING to these fools!!!!!!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THEM! LOL

As I sit here doing my last minute blogs I take a look to my left. Here lies my boyfriend... KNOCKED OUT! He was suppossed to be my support as I did my work but I guess he couldnt hang with the big dawgs lol. I broke my computer halfway through the semester so I never got a chance to do my blogs other than when im at someone elses house.
I have to work at 9am and Im still typing away lol.
This is me venting I guess. lol
I had a moment of sadness the other day when i realized that nothing goes the way you plan. I know I wont be a singer or princess like i thought i would be as a little girl. (I cant even sing lol) But I looked at where I am in life and although I feel acomplished I feel there is so much more to do. I want to get married and have babies and be rich (that dream wont die lol). Im starting to underwstand that God has a plan for me and I am not in control. I wonder what my calling is? Whatever you have in store for me Lord, I hope I make you proud in doing so.

Celebrity Lace Front Wigs
Above you have supermodel Tyra Banks and international superstar Beyonce Knowles both rocking Lace Front Wigs.
The reason these are called lace front wigs are because the tracks are placed on a very thin lace that is glued to the hairline. The extra lace is then cut off to create that "realistic" hairline I spoke of before.
These can last for months depending on what quality hair you bought and who put it together.
Im not a fan of these. The hairline creeps me out. lol I prefer a more natural looking weave =)
Front Lace Instruction Video
A lace front is a unique wig that is attached directly to the head creating a "realistic" hairline. This is the same hairstyle that celebrites such as Beyonce wear. The video gives you a step by step guide on how to do your own lace front wig using double sided tape or glue.
Micro Braids
This video shows how to do micro braids. The reason I chose this video (with its low quality lol) is because the braider puts the braid upon the edges which are very short. This is the same style I am wearing now. Its a good style to get for those who dont like to do their hair often or who are trying to grow their hair out without damaging it with heat and chemicals.
Here is a picture of my Micro Braids. I have had them up for 2 months and I plan to keep them up another month. These braids can cost anywhere from $75 when you get them done unprofessionally and up to $300 when done by the African hair braiders. Mine were done by Princess at Princess African Hair Braiders shop near Princeton Hospital.
Addicted to Nails
For those of you who think my previous post was a bit much, here is a blog that you may enjoy that is a little more laid back.
My Manager's Fiance' does nails that look more natural and focus on trending nail techniques and do it yourself tutorials.
I think you guys should check her blog out. Her name is Kelly and she is the shiznit!
These are her marblized nails. Pretty cool huh?

NAILS NAILS AND NAILS!!!!
This is a picture straight from the archives of one of my childhood best friends nail book. Some people may consider these to be ghetto but I think they are plain AWESOME! Everything is done free hand and I look at this like an art. After all, when beauticians do hair shows the styles are always very "extra". This too is a bit much to wear on an everyday level but the artistic skills are definitly there. Shoutout to my friend Lavette Cephus for doing it big. You came a long way girl Do ya thang!!!!
PS
Doing this style of nails gets her $40 per customer and she had bought her first home at the age of 22. No degree, single mom, making it happen. SO PROUD OF YOU!
Booty Pop Commercial
The booty Pop underwear are padded undies that give the illusion that the Butt is bigger and more lifted. That video above argues that it does the same thing for the butt that the push up bra does for the breast. I however feel that these are a stretch. This is beyond false advertising and if you took your pants off and a man seen this... tisk tisk tisk. It would be a big gossip day the following morning about your fake buttox and how flat the real deal is. Ladies I know its easier said than done, but lets try to be oursleves a little more and loose the makeup, fake hair, push up bra's and booty pops..... naaaah. On the other hand lets keep our stupid little manmade treasures that make us feel more womanly. POWER OF THE P LADIES!!!!!!
BH Cosmetics
This 120 color Pallete works wonders. In comparison the my Victorias Secret Supermodel palettet this one passes with flying colors. This one cost the same price, has more colors and last all day without creasing when applied after primer.
The only plus the VS kit possesses is the fact that it comes with blush, bronzer, and a million other things that sound cool but you'll never use. For thirty bucks Ill take the BH cosmetics palette please!

MAKEUP
Since I am being a little girly why not talk about makeup too! I just ventered into the makeup scene around my sophomore year in college. Then I started wearing eyeshadow. Now two years later I keep my primer, foundation, eyeshadow quake and entire kit right in my bag. I have a tried a few products and not all of them are great. Reguardeless of the riduculous price, the mascara at MAC is not at all that great for the price, but the studio fx foundation is AWWWWEEESOMME!
I compared and contrasted the items from other stores and places. It surprised me to find that a lot of the ones I like best were the underdogs.
VICTORIA'S SECRET EYELID PRIMER
This primer has passed the test time and time again. It works twice as good as both of the MAC eyeshadow primers I tried. Move asside MAC, VS is on the makeup map!

Milky Way
Milky way is a great brand to by when you plan on going somewhere and want to look great and have a quality of hair that is least likely to shed as much as the others. This is the next level up from the Que by milky way hair. It curls wonderfully and lasts up to 4 months.
TYPES OF WEAVE
When buying weave I also take several things into consideration.
#1 How long will I be keeping this style up? is usually the first question. Human Hair weave can cost anywhere from ten dollars to hundreds of dollars. I spend depending on what quality I want. If im only going to keep it up a few weeks, its not smart to spend 150 dollars on hair you only plan to wear for 2 to 3 weeks. I have a few brands that I prefer that fit in different price ranges.
My favorite and least expenisive would have to be QUE by milky way.
This brand is the bomb dot com! It curls easily and looks great on. I use it whenever I need a quick fix!
It is really easy to layer and looks great on!

Invisible Part
This is an example of what an invisible part looks like on a quick weave. I also do these on weaves that are sewn in.
Here are some of the styles I have actually done with the invisible part:
The person in this example is the female of course.
Check me out though! they are fly!!!! All Sew Ins, quickweaves are for cheaters! lol
Courtney
Courtney is a close friend of mine. She chooses to wear weave just because she likes it. Her natural hair is fine with her she just likes to change up her style randomly. Here is a before and after of a few of her styles.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
What Courtney has in her hair here is a sew in with an invisible part. The invisible part is a very unique style of creating an illusion that there is a part in the hair. in reality there is none of the natural hair revealed at all.

Styles by Muah!
Here are a few sew ins that I created based on what my clients wanted. Here is the first one.
My clients are my friends so I will always refer to them by name. Jasmine (above) has very thick natural hair. This made doing her sew in harder to braid and easier to style. It was hard to braid because all of the parts must be small so that it doesnt look like a huge lump of hair under her weave. She was going for a natural look but wanted hair longer than her normal BOB cut. This is the after shot of her sew in. Directly below is the before shot of Jasmine when she does not have weave in her hair.
Its hard to believe that the first picture isnt her real hair. That was the look she was going for. I feel like a good beautician.... *all smiles

Sew In
After you have created the bee hive, you then thread the curved needle the same way that you would if you were going to sew clothing.
next you have to place the tracked hair onto the braid and connect using the thread. The way you sew this will not be exactly the same way you sew your favorite old t shirt. you want to go under the braid and loop the thread to knot it. this is very hard to explain and easier to watch. The post directly before this one is a video I enjoy from a youtube user named Ms Chanda. She explains well and her styles turn out great!
I hope you enjoy!
In case you didnt see the already posted video here is the link.

Sew In Preperation
A sew in is a pretty kick ass way to rock a synthetic hair style that is long lasting and natural looking. It starts with braiding the entire head in the bee hive pattern I explained earlier. If you only wanted to sew a few tracks in for volume you will braid every so ofter until you reach desired thickness.
EX:
HERE IS THAT BEEHIVE PATTER I TOLD YOU ABOUT
This makes is easier to braid on so that you just attach the track right over each braid. this creates the same look as the quickweave it just last weeks to months longer.
To create a sew in you need to have Scissors, Needle and Thread. Not your normal needle and thread however, youll need a curved hair needle and a thread that matches whatever color hair you have. Ex Brown, Black , Blonde ( The only colors I have ever seen them in)

Quick Weave II
This weave is consisdered quick because it covers the entire head and the actual track never has to be cut.
You go in a circular motion toward the top/middle of the head. I like to call this a bee hive beacause it is shaped that way as you create the style. (sounds really ugly right lol). you dont stop until you reach the crown of the head . it is very easy to make this style look like like a wig. Your best bet is to cut it really cute in some type of layers or style so it doesnt look so blah. The main thing that will make or break you when doing a quickweave is the closure partl. some people close the top using the tracked hair (this is definitly a skill/) others use a closure piece and glue it on the top. I always suggest you use the closure peice if you are not an expert at sealing closures manually. You can do a Quick Weave directly on top of you natural hair or on top of a stocking cap. These can last up to 8 weeks and are very low maintainence. Try it out!
PS a QuickWeave is a fancy wig attached to your head lol
PSS One way to distinquish a quick weave from other weaves is to notice that none of the natural hair is showing on a quick weave. there is usually NEVER a part showing the scalp.

Quick Weave
I thought this was pretty funny when I ran across it:
Definition of QuickWeave;
Definition of QuickWeave;
n. 1.a hiddious weave, similar to a wig that females wear. first the hair is wrapped and a wig cap is placed on the head, then the weave is glued on the cap in a circular direction 2. a quick hairstyle "27 piece"
-URBAN DICTIONARY
There is two reasons why this is funny to me. Reason number one being that this is a pretty acurate definiton of a quick weave minus the mean part about it being a hideous weave. Thing number two is that Urban Dictionary entries are added by users so anyone with an opinion could have posted this. So I hope you dont think Quickweaves are hideous cause I think they are just gorgeous! Check out some examples:
Removing Glued Tracks
There is nothing worse than adding weave to your real hair for volume and removing the tracks to find your natural hair even thinner than it was before. to prevent thinning and split ends it is essential that you remove your tracks correctly.
TIPS:
1. Do not remove the tracks too quickly. if you only needed volume for a short period of time such as prom, or the weekend you should consider clip ins.
2.After at least two weeks you can start removing your tracks by first adding oil to the actual track.
3. next you can test to see how loose the tracks are. if they seem to slip out continue to oil them with hair grease or oil until they slide out. this process should be painless.
4. if it is painful DO NOT PULL. Purchase Glue remover shampoo that is usually made from the same brand that makes the glue.
5. Wash your entire head with the shampoo and tracks should begin to slip out while wet.
6. wuse a fine tooth comb to remove flue after all tracks are removed from head.
7.wash hair with normal shampoo. Make sure to use a good conditioner so that hair is revitalized.
8. let your hair breath in between weaves for at least a few days.
Now its time to weave it up again... REPEAT!

Glued In Tracks
People wear weave for various reasons. Some do it to create fullness or bodt that their natural hair doesnt provide. i will explain to you how to create a fuller look with glued in tracks.
Step 1: part the natural hair where you want the first track to be placed.
Step 2:measure the length of the part using the tracked hair.
Step 3: cut the tracked hair so that the length matches the length of the part.
Step 4: Put a thin line of glue along the inside of the track. (the inside of the track is the part where you can not distinctly see the stitching). I prefer to use the 30 sec drying glue. This way the tracks dont loosen during the drying process.
(Here is a good cheap brand to try, its only $1!!!)
Step 5: place the track on the hair directly below the part. This prevents breakage at the root upon removal of the tracks. Its better not to put glue directly on scalp.)
Step 6: Use a hand held blow dryer to ensure that glue has dried and track is secure.
Step 7: Repeat this process until you feel you have reached the desired fullness.
Now you have Successfullu created your very first weave.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I consider myself to be a bit of a weaveologist. My definition of a weaveologist would be:
A person who specializes in the production of artificial hair, and creating various styles.
As a weaveologist I also am able to point out a good or bad weave and identify what kind it is. A meteorologist points identifies storms, I identify bad weaves. Lol in some of the following post I will describe how to create various different hair weaves and etc. I hope you enjoy!

Spring Break
Looking through my texts I stumbled upon this:
"PINK's going 2 Miami 4 spring break! Where will U be? Rply w/ UR letter!
With me working at Victoria's Secret, theres no secret that I love the PINK brand. So of course I'm a member of Pink Nation. Pink Nation is a club full of people who also love PINK and discounts. They send out texts with promotions, emails and all other kinds of cool stuff. (you should join.... its FREE!)
Anyhow, I received the text from PinkNation saying that they were going to be in Miami for spring break then it asks where was I going to spend my break. The options were A)Miami too B)Home C)Abroad or D)the Beach.
At the end of the day, the option with the most votes was B)Home. WEEELLLL DUUUUH! Well lets be serious here. Im a senior and have never been on a spring break vacation besides home. Im broke and have to work my way through college like most other students. Another thing i found pretty interesting was the fact that they didn't offer a none of the above option, or work.
I don't know about you guys but i tell you what. After I receive this degree and good job, Im going to treat myself to a greeeeat vacation somewhere new and excited every year lol. To sum up this post I'M JEALOUS THAT I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE FOR SPRING BREAK! lol have fun at the beach and at home this year kiddos. Enjoy it while you can lucky suckas!

A letter to my Grandfather
Lately Ive been MIA, and a little bit distant from those I did encounter. I lost my granddaddy and its kind of put me somewhere that Ive never been before. I dont know how to express how I feel so Ill just write this letter to my granddad.

Dear Granddaddy,
I think about you daily. We really miss you down here. It hurts me that Ill never get to hug and kiss you again. Or listen to that comforting laugh. I came to see you in the hospital that thursday before you went home. You were asleep, the nurse told me I could talk to you and that you might hear me. In case you didnt, I told you that everyone said hi, and that we wanted you to get better. I sent love from Mama, Nita, Nahja, the kids and even your little superstar Annie. She's really sad that she couldnt come to the funeral. But I gave you kisses for her. The last thing i said to you before I left the hospital was that I would come back with my grandma and you frowned. Dont worry about her Granddaddy. She is well taken care of here.
Your homegoing service was beautiful, and Pastor Braxton loves and will miss you greatly too. He told us the best way to honor your memory was to follow in your footsteps. That doesnt sound like such a bad idea. =) When i go to the house it feels empty without you, but this too shall pass. I know your better off up there. And one day I will be there with you, and hear that beautiful laugh again. Maybe I can play in your hair like when we were little girls and put barrettes in it like we used to do on the porch in E. St Louis. You let us do that just to entertain us and it was so fun. I think we filled your whole head with pink and purple barrettes lol. I'll never forget it.
Although things are still kind of hard right now, Im trying. I kind of let my school work slip but no more. Im going to get the grades I know you want me to get and be the first in the family with a bachelor's degree. I think Im going to go straight to grad school too. You would be so proud. I know you want nothing more than for us to be happy. Now that your no longer suffering, We are happy. We are happy that you got your mansion up there that you never got on this side. We are happy that your walking pain free on the other side. And I am happy that I received 22 years with the best grandfather in the whole world. I love you.

I love you.

Welcome to the Vent!
My best friend and I spend several hours a week on the phone "venting". Its a new day and age diaries are almost a thing of the past. So what else is there to do when anger, frustration, and bursts of emotion overcome you?Its time to let it all out. (wooooo-saaaaah) ;-) Im going to tell you some juicy and interesting thoughts, and in return I want you to do the same. Tell me who pissed you off and why, because Im sure as hell going to tell you! Im excited about getting a chance to vent some more. The next post WILL be a vent. Its going down people. LETS BLOW SOME STEAM!!!!!!
